Flowers of Scotland - Spring
Kerria Japonica

Kerria Japonica

As its name implies, this shrub originated in Japan. It is also known as a "Mallow" and it thrives in most conditions. This specimen was spotted beside Lake of Menteith in Stirlingshire, Scotland's only natural stretch of water called "lake" (all the rest are lochs).
