Flowers of Scotland - Spring


The delicate veins on the petals of this orchid contrast with the dark centre which is designed to attract pollinating insects. In the orchid house at Kelvingrove Botanic Gardens in Glasgow, however, it is more likely to be gardeners who carry out the pollination.
