Flowers of Scotland - Spring
Flowering Cherry
The "Prunus" family to which the ornamental cherry belongs, is a large one and includes almonds, peach and plums. Due to a combination of weather and attacks on the fruit by birds, they are mainly grown in Scotland for their display of flowers each spring. In the background of this picture is the brilliant yellow of a Forsythia.
