Fritallaria

Fritallaria

This snake's head fritallary is of the "Melleagris" variety. It is slightly unusual and is more likely to be found in botanic gardens than in suburbia. The fritallaria is from the lily family and prefers non-acid conditions which are not often found in Scotland. It comes into flower from late April onwards. This example was found in Branklyn Gardens, Perth.
