Trillium

The Wood Lily has a three leaves from which the three-petalled flowers emerge - sometimes pure white or with a tinge of pink while the toad trillium is brownish purple, measuring around 4cm (1") across. Trillium Grandiflorum (also to be found at Glendoick) is known in its native North America as Wake-Robin and has flowers 7.5cm (3") long. As can be seen, this photograph was taken after a shower of rain.
