Trillium

The Wood Lily has a three leaves from which the three-petalled flowers emerge - sometimes pure white or with a tinge of pink while the toad trillium is brownish purple, measuring around 4cm (1½") across. Trillium Grandiflorum (also to be found at Glendoick) is known in its native North America as Wake-Robin and has flowers 7.5cm (3") long. As can be seen, this photograph was taken after a shower of rain.
