The tall-stemmed Himalayan blue poppy is becoming very popular in Scotland as gardeners find that it is not difficult to grow as long as it has a humus-rich soil and is not in full sun. Indeed, it thrives in a north-facing position or, as at Glendoick, in a woodland setting.
