Up-river - Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre

On the left is the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) with its oddly shaped "Clyde Auditorium". As soon as this was built the local Glaswegians immediately dubbed it "The Armadillo".

The black building beside it is the plush Moat House Hotel. Further up the river, beside the Finnieston crane is a new hotel - the City Inn.

On the right, beyond the construction site for the Glasgow Science Centre, is the new Scottish Criminal Records Office. The new BBC Scotland centre will be built near there and a new road bridge across the river is to be constructed from Finnieston to improve access. This will result in ships no longer being able to sail up the Clyde beyond that point. The present pedestrian "Bell's Bridge" is likely to remain and indeed another pedestrian bridge linking the SECC and the Glasgow Science Centre and Tower is to be built.
