Although the bagpipes often grab the limelight, the drummers are a very important part of any competitive band. The drumming corps won that element of the World Championships every year from 1988 to 1998 and again in 2002 and 2003 - a remarkable achievement. The current Drum Major is Jim Kilpatrick who joined in that capacity in 1986, having been a member at an earlier stage in his drumming career.
