Flowers of Scotland - Spring
Camelia

Camelia

Varieties of Camelia "Williamsii" are strong, evergreen shrubs which are valued for their lustrous foliage as well as for the elegance of the rose-like flowers. While they are often grown as specimens I have seen a hedge made of this plant at Kelburn Castle in Ayrshire where the lack of frost in the coastal climate is a bonus for these delicate blooms.
