- Horse-drawn Taxi
In 1998 the Edinburgh School of Carriage Driving was granted approval to operate a taxi and sight-seeing service in the streets of Edinburgh. But only after trial which assessed whether they would cause problems to other road users as the horses were travelling at only 10mph. However, as the streets of Edinburgh are frequently so clogged with traffic, most car-owners would be only too pleased to be able to go as "fast" as 10mph!
