Another Ayrshire First
Last month it was revealed that billionaire entrepreneur Donald Trump has bought the iconic Turnberry Hotel and its championship Ailsa golf course. The price was not disclosed but Mr T said that it was "not cheap".

Now The Donald has revealed that lovely resort, which enjoys some stunning views over the Firth of Clyde, is being rebranded 'Trump Turnberry.'

What next? Bill Gates to buy Gleneagles and rename it Gates Gleneagles? Mitsubishi to take over Muirfield and call it Mitsibushi Muirfield? Call me old fashioned, but I just like Scottish names to stay as they are and not tagged on to some corporate identity.

But perhaps my view will soften when Scottie treats me to a much needed editorial lunch chez Trump Turnberry.

[Editor's note: You mean that Ayrshire Early baked potato and haggis - pictured here in sunny Ayrshire - wasn't enough??]
