Salmond Lookalike Ponders Future

One of the strangest manifestations of the law of unintended consequences came as a result of Alex Salmond's resignation after the Referendum result came in as a (fairly) convincing 'No.'

John MacLeod from Aberdeenshire was worried that his living as a Salmond lookalike would be jeopardised as Eck left the political scene.

He should not have worried. Earlier this month the former First Minister formally announced that he would stand as the SNP's candidate in the UK election which will be held in May 2015. The Gordon constituency in north east Scotland is currently held by Sir Malcolm Brice, a Lib Dem member of the Westminster parliament.
