"Knit your own Broons" by Jackie Holt and Ruth Bailey is scheduled to be published by the end of October 2014. The book promises to give detailed step-by-step instructions on how to create Maw, Paw, Joe, Hen, Daphne, Maggie, Horace, the Twins, the Bairn and not forgetting Gran'paw,

I hope to go to the launch of the book and will report back. D C Thomson, who own the rights, are well-known to be jealous of their iconic characters and it is good that the crafty authors have been allowed to exert their novel take on Maw, Paw and the rest.
