- Donald's Not Wearing Trooosers

But it's Never a Skirt!
A man has been detained in Moscow by police for wearing a kilt.

Eyewitnesses said that police in central Moscow arrested near the Tsoi Wall, dedicated to musician Viktor Tsoi and his band Kino - picture © "Superchilum" via Wikimedia Commons.

A group of young people had gathered to celebrate St Patrick's Day weekend, with a bystander testifying that police arrested the man for 'wearing a skirt in public.' Whit cheek!

The man was taken to the Arbat district Department of Internal Affairs. Although Scottish newspapers reported the arrest, there was no further reports on the outcome.

On the vexed issue of what the true Scot wears underneath the sporran, the practice of "going commando" has been the mark of a true Scotsman for generations. The Web is full of graphics illustrating this - with pictures often taken on windy days!

But the Scottish Tartans Authority, who are dedicated to upholding the nation's traditions, say it flies in the face of decency.

A spokesman for the Authority said: said: "The idea that you are not a real Scot unless you are bare under your kilt should be thrown into the same wastepaper basket as the idea you're not a real Scot unless you put salt on your porridge.

"Just because Highlanders wore nothing in the days before Y-fronts doesn't mean we should wear nothing too. Sending children up chimneys is traditional too but we don't do it now."
