A Menu to Float Your Boat on the Clyde

Plans have been lodged for a floating restaurant on the River Clyde.

ADF Architects and Clydeside Restaurants Ltd have published plans to moor a pontoon restaurant at a prime location on the Clyde, overlooking landmarks such as the Finnieston Crane, the Clyde Arc and the SSE Hydro.

A planning statement from ADF reads: "The floating restaurant to be moored at this location has been designed to complement existing architectural features and to add to the interest and activity in this location.

"In this context the addition of activity on the river with architectural features that complements the Hydro and other buildings in the surrounding area will add to the attraction and vitality of the river at this location."

The development is not unique on that part of the river - the former Renfrew Ferry, converted to a bar, restaurant and entertainment venue has been moored for many years not far away from the location of the new floating restaurant - see The Ferry
