Battle of Britain Air Display
Leuchars, September 2002
Nearly every year, the Royal Air Force air base at Leuchars in Fife acts as host to an air display to commemorate those who fought in the Battle of Britain over the skies of Britain in August/September 1940. The display is the largest (indeed, these days, the only one of any size) in Scotland. The number of aircraft on the ground seemed larger than ever this year and the air display lasted from 10am to 5pm. The illustrations of a number of the aircraft seen that day can be accessed via the thumbnails below and on subsequent index pages. You can take the "grand tour" as each page is linked to the next.
