Connery Swings into Golf Movie
If you add golf, St Andrews and the Connery name hopefully you have the main ingredients of an excellent film.

Jason Connery, son of the James Bond actor and his first wife, the Australian actress Diane Cilento, is behind a major film based on the life of golf pioneer Old Tom Morris of St Andrews. Tom Morris, Jr. (died 1875), best known as "Young Tom Morris", was his son. Graphic of Old Tom Morris via Wikimedia Commons.

Old Tom Morris, 1821-1908 was a greenkeeper wbo also designed clubs, balls and courses. Old Tom began golf by age ten using a homemade club.

He won the Open Championship at the age of 46 and his record of being the oldest winner still stands.

The lead in the movie will be played by Peter Mullan, the Scottish actor who appeared in hits such as Trainspotting and Braveheart.
