BFG Movie to Boost Scottish Tourism?



Big Friendly Giant and Sophie




The Spielberg adaptation of Roald Dahl's Big Friendly Giant is scheduled for its release in July.

Working under the code name Big Valley Productions, the film crew shot in several locations in the Highlands and islands in late June and early August of last year. David Broder, the film's location manager David Broder said : "We filmed scenes for the BFG on Skye as plate shots to be part of our Giants Land. The book, first published in1982, tells the story of a girl called Sophie, whose friendship with a Big Friendly Giant takes her to places she had never dreamed of as he sets out to capture the man-eating giants invading the human world. The book was illustrated by Quintin Blake to great acclaim.

The YouTube trailer for the movie, which stars Mark Rylance, is on YouTube At the time of writing it had attracted over 4 million hits.
